About The Book

The battles between Carthage and Rome during the Punic Wars have been documented by ancient and modern historians. The battle of the Metauro is lesser known yet significant. This book historical fiction focuses on the Battle of the Metauro the last battle of Hasdrubal. Hasdrubal was to join his brother Hannibal on the plains of Umbria where as a combined force they would enter Rome and stop the spread of the Roman army across the Mediterranean ending the war with Carthage. Hasdrubal's army was confronted by the Romans at the Metauro River before they could meet up with Hannibals's forces further to the south. This book is centered on the lives of the locals who were impacted by this battle and who through their actions affected its outcome.
