About The Book

About the Book: With depleting water resources and increasing demand of fresh water it has become imperative to artificially recharge the groundwater. As compared to surface water groundwater is safe and can be stored. It can be safeguarded from pollution. Hence thrust should be to develop groundwater resources. In urban areas open spaces are shrinking and the population is increasing. Here roof water harvesting is the best method by which the groundwater storage can be enhanced. Several simple but effective methods of roof water harvesting have been described. In rural areas 70% of the available water is required for irrigation. Some innovative and useful methods of artificial recharge have been dealt which can fulfill the need of rural areas if properly and scientifically deployed. The suggested structures are economical and effective. About the Author: Born on 15 th August 1945 Dr. Santosh Saksena had his school education at Cambridge School and St. Joseph’s Convent Bhopal.
