Mexican Autumn

About The Book

A group of inter-related short stories set in the small Mexican fishing village of Bahia de los angeles (sic) this novel examines the impact of American tourists on the local population. Bahia de los angeles is a real village fronting the Sea of Cortez on the east coast of Baja California. Owing to restrictions on commercial fishing (because of environmental concerns) the villagers now depend heavily on tourism for their livelihood. Despite their inbred disinclinations they are forced to understand the ways of el gringo. Tourists on the other hand also face various culture shocks.
