Microbial Cooperation in Rhizosphere

The rhizosphere is a narrow region of soil that is directly influenced by root secretions and associated soil microbes. Plants exhibit a diverse array of interactions with these soil microbes which span the full range of ecological possibilities such as competitive commensal mutualistic etc. Rhizosphere organisms have been well studied for their beneficial effects on plant growth and health. The beneficiary microbes include Nitrogen fixers P solubilisers Biocontrol microbes etc. These microbes are also important in agriculture for bio-fertilizer production.
