Microbiology Mystery of Life

Microbiology is an extremely diverse discipline and can be a confusing subject for the beginner. The traditional books seem exhaustive with microbiological facts and are too long and detailed to be read by the student trying to keep up with multiple lectures in other subjects at the same time. On the contrary some of the books are short too superficial and with insufficient information on microbiology not useful for a medical student. The microbiology text presented here was written after 2 years of teaching students and finding a book that is both readable and complete enough to meet their needs. It contains all the information relevant to medical students studying microbiology for their exams. It also provides a solid microbiological background and describes the organisms in a clinically relevant way. Although the text was designed for undergraduate and graduate medical students. Microbiology has expanded beyond recognition with various medical specialties and it is not possible for a textbook to cover all aspects of medical microbiology in depth. The chapters themselves are comprehensive but devoid of unnecessary detail providing the reader with a framework for understanding.
