This research manuscript presents the development and simulation of a three-state charge algorithm in an autonomous photovoltaic system. The aim of this work is to automatically operate a photovoltaic installation in such a way as to make it transparent to users. In fact when operation is left to users the service life of the accumulators is compromised because the photovoltaic source is intermittent. To achieve this we developed the three-state battery charge control algorithm programmed the PIC and simulated an autonomous photovoltaic system in the ISIS PROTEUS environment consisting of: a photovoltaic panel a regulator two storage batteries an inverter various priority lines in a house and two PIC 16F877A microcontrollers that generate a PWM signal.
