Microdeletions of Human Chromosome 8p

This work covers the production of home brew BAC based FISH probes as well as an overview of the possible use of these probes in detecting known areas of deletion as well as testing for deletions in cell lines with normal appearing chromosomes. The use of FISH probes is a useful tool in gaining more information from traditional cytogenetic analysis in a research population. The appendices contain several useful protocols for production BAC based FISH probes which may be of benefit to researchers.
