This book presents a diagnostic study of the current state of rural finance in Uzbekistan and India. The focus area therefore is microfinance and how it would help in welfare of rural people. This work is a critical analysis of various approaches throughout the world by which this programme could be made more robust and all-inclusive. It also takes into account that how the formal financial system can meet the diverse demand of financial services in rural areas.
