Micropropagation of Potato (Solanum tuberesuim)

About The Book

Potato production in Eritrea has been hindered due to different reasons mainly using conventional potato production unavailability of efficient seed supply systems coupled with disease and virus infection. The possible solution for tackling this challenge is using tissue culture technique. This book thus presents the evaluation of different starch based gelling agents in comparison to the standard gelling agent agar. Even though agar has been the most popular gelling agent for many years there has been reports about its short comings in its performance. Therefore this book is about a research to find the possible starch based alternative gelling agents to agar in micropropagation of potato.
