When I first visited the town of Sohra in Meghalaya in 2000 I was enthralled with her beauty mysticism and smell. At the time I was unaware that one day I will begin to pen down my thoughts and emotions my anger and love; it is something I would not have done if I hadn’t fallen in love with Sohra. Later this expression turned to humans their stake in my heart and how it got cracked how they disappeared from life or I chose to quit them. This pain got translated into poems. ‘Midnights of Melancholy’ is an ode to those midnights that I have lost and are never coming back. I felt the urge to relive them only by transforming them into poetry.
