Milk

The MILK project is about painting my immediate surroundings with a focus on the different aspects of contemporary dairy farming.How do things really work on a modern dairy farm and why? How does this affect the animals the people handling them and the landscape they live in? I painted as much as my neighbours would allow in stables and fields. I visited the cattle market and talked with farmers and activists. I painted a dairy cow life line from birth to slaughter. The result of a year of painting dairy cattle and the knowledge I gained can be found in this book.
