The international communities have signed the Millennium Declaration in the year 2000 as a global development agenda for the 21th century. The global communities have shown an overwhelming support determination and optimism and high level of expectation for the realization of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by 2015. Enormous resources were sunk strong commitment demonstrated and global partnership strengthened. Most of these efforts are directed at enhancing the capacity of the local governments to fully implement the MDGs programs. However midway to the 2015 date line there appears to be a gap between the performance of the Local Governments and the attainment of the MDGs set targets. This book therefore explored the nature and quantum of the MDGs intervention and management across sectors particularly in education and health care delivery. It alsotries to establish the capacity gap that undermined the attainment of of the MDGs set targets. It is our hope that the book will be especially useful to Public Managers Policy Makers Development Experts and Donor Agencies concern with local development and support programs.
