The last of six children she enjoyed each season for its unique beauty and opportunities. But farm life isn't easy and Millie dreamed of being a teacher one day perhaps even moving to the city with her husband. Meanwhile Walter living on a farm not far from Millie aspired to be a preacher like his well-known father. Circumstances forbade this option so instead he answered the call of travel and headed to the opposite coast.
