Interestingly its importance is not adequately reflected in the legal literature. Only a few thesis and essays investigate the legal underpinnings of the Australian minimum wage system. Especially in Germany the Australian approach is often unknown and consequently neglected. This essay does not give a political statement in favour or disfavour of minimum wages in Australia but the author focuses on the legal underpinnings of the Australian minimum wage system.
