<p>Katherine Olmsted's amazing nursing adventures carried her overseas to Europe as a Red Cross nurse during World War I.&nbsp;Her war time experience as documented by letters written home display an interesting perspective from on-site deployment.&nbsp;Katherine later spoke of her wartime experiences to many groups stateside.&nbsp;In 1921 she returned to Europe to help with the post-war reconstruction efforts.&nbsp;During her second tour of duty she traveled through fifty-two countries and received eleven decorations plus citations. In 1926 Katherine Olmsted resigned from the nursing profession and enrolled at University Sorbonne Paris to earn Le Cordon Bleu Cuisine Diploma.&nbsp;She then headed home to the U.S. to start a new career as chef and restaurant owner.&nbsp;This book takes a look into the life of a nurse during a remarkable time in history and is a tribute to Katherine Olmsted's resilience.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
