About The Book

Missouri is a Wonderful State! It is a scenic historic and entertaining region surrounding the mean population center of a great country. Missourians are justifiably proud of the state and the people who contributed to its culture. This book documents many good things about Missouri obviously just a fraction not even close to all the good things; it includes famous firsts and Missourians who made history; people who helped to make it great and many of those that do so today. It was necessary to leave out many interesting and informative things about the people and places so you may want to use the book as a starting point to dig deeper into the subjects highlighted here.

Bob Mellberg was born August 31 1935 in Manitowoc and raised in Menasha Wisconsin. He toured the Far East with the Marine Corps before he met and married Rachel his wife of more than 51 years. They raised a family of four children while Bob attended college graduating from Iowa State University in 1962. He started a 34-year career with McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis retiring as Facilities Manager in 1996. Bob has won awards for watercolor paintings and sculpture and enjoys researching and writing. He is now living at the Lake of the Ozarks Missouri where he is a member of the Lake Writers Guild. This is his first book.

The inspiration for Missouri Proud the Missouri Brag Book began when Bob served in the Marines and continued while at McDonnell where people from across the country revealed pride in their home state. During his travels he noticed that most people are proud of their hometown and their home state. Bob looks back to his past with pride; he too is justifiably proud of Missouri; his adopted home state.

It has been stated that: If it's true it's not bragging. Bob adds; The facts in this book are true.this is your Missouri braggin' rights ammo.
