About The Book

Philadelphia's golden age of crime was unlike anything you've ever seen before. Between 1882 and 1922 over a million poor immigrants settled in Philly and many turned to the streets as a means for survival. This began a rash in the formation of street gangs--Italian Irish Jewish Polish German Black--that sold everything from booze and drugs to protection sex and games of chance. It was hard to tell the good guys from the bad as police and political corruption was rampant for almost 100 years. Mobs & Mayhem takes you back for all the incredible stories and insight into the characters who were doing what in those wild and crazy times.
