Modeling of Calcium Channel Inactivation in the Calyx of Held
English

About The Book

The model is built based on Hodgkin-Hexley model to simulate the calcium-dependent calcium current inactivation in mouse Calyx of Held. The intracellular calcium dynamics is estimated with a single compartment model. The parameters are estimated with the constraint of experimental data that the global calcium affects calcium inactivation during train stimulation while the local calcium signal contributes largely to calcium inactivation during prolonged pulse stimulation. Compared to the experimental data the model underestimates the level of inactivation and further suggests the presence of a calcium-independent component in calcium current inactivation.
