Intensive uses of titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles in many consumer products e.g. toothpaste cosmetics paints food colorants and in cancer therapy as a result of their high optical performance high redox activityand large surface area increase their human exposure and their risk. Indeed nano-TiO2 was reported to kill viruses e.g. Poliovirus 1 hepatitis B virus Herpes simplex virus and MS2 bacteriophage. That forced us to evaluate the possible reduction of nano-titanium induced genotoxicity by natural antioxidant chlorophyllin.
