Mohit's Adventure : and a sweet tit for tat

A glossy picture book with illustrations in black & white for age 8+ Mohit was tired and soon dozed off. It was past midnight when he was awakened by muffled sounds. They were coming from the garden. He lay quietly and listened just to be sure. Then he got up and peered through the window of his first-floor bedroom. In the moonlight he could see some movement and a hazy outline. Who can it be? Who can it be? About three days ago he had seen a wooden plank in the garden but had not paid attention. Maybe his father or mother both keen gardeners had placed it there. He noticed that the movements were taking place around that plank. Is it an animal some stray dog which has jumped over the fence? Mohit paced the room returning to the window. Should I go or not go? Should I wake up Mama? No that would be a disaster. Finally mustering some courage Mohit decided to investigate and he prayed. I hope I don’t get any nasty surprises…
