Monograph on Gene Markers against GI Parasitism in Small Ruminants

About The Book

The gastrointestinal nematode (GIN) infestations are constraints on the efficient raising of ruminants. They present a great threat to their health and productivity. Small ruminants (sheep and goats) are prone to GIN infections because the areas they graze (pastures and other grass lands) are contaminated with infective stages (eggs and larvae) of GINs which result in continuous infection and re-infection of these animals. This manuscript aims to decipher specific genetic loci affecting gastrointestinal nematodiasis in goat and their utilization as tool for indirect method of selection for disease resistance.
