Moonlit Valley

<p>Moonlit Valley is a collection of original <strong>poems </strong>and <strong>illustrations </strong>expressing one author's continued journey to work through <strong>depression</strong> <strong>anxiety</strong> and <strong>poor self-esteem</strong>. It is all about finding a safe space after escaping the darkest of places and the fear of then leaving the comfort zone to venture on to better things and the struggles that come with <strong>recovering </strong>from <strong>trauma</strong>.</p><p></p><p><em>You safely climbed down the mountain</em></p><p><em>From your darkest place</em></p><p><em>Years of extraneous work</em></p><p><em>And found a valley</em></p><p><em>There</em></p><p><em>You lay amongst the flowers</em></p><p><em>Beneath the sweet cool light of the moon</em></p><p><em>Cradled and cozy in the grass</em></p><p><em>And the soothing gentle breeze</em></p><p><em>There is another climb ahead</em></p><p><em>Another mountain waits</em></p><p><em>A castle at the summit</em></p><p><em>To journey on</em></p><p><em>Means another struggle</em></p><p><em>Before the safety of the next peak</em></p><p><em>Its daunting</em></p><p><em>You're safe here in the valley</em></p><p><em>But this is just a pocket</em></p><p><em>You want to grow</em></p><p><em>You want to continue</em></p><p><em>Yet it is so very peaceful here</em></p><p><em>Secure amongst the flowers of the moon.</em></p>
