About The Book

<span style=color: rgba(0 0 0 1)>In the Summer of 1999 I was waiting to meet a friend at Joseph-Beth Booksellers when my eyes inadvertently fell on a small book that was on the table of the best sellers <em style=color: rgba(0 0 0 1)>We Could Almost Eat Outside<span style=color: rgba(0 0 0 1)> by Philippe Delerm a Frenchman. I picked it up because that phrase is often used in our house. The line beneath the title on the cover <em style=color: rgba(0 0 0 1)>An Appreciation of Life's Small Pleasures<span style=color: rgba(0 0 0 1)> charmed me enormously and I sat right down on a bench there and read the eighty-three pages in its entirety. I bought all the copies that they had planning to give them to our children and our friends. Going home down the Old Frankfort Pike I began to think of the small everyday things that are so special and wonderful for those of us fortunate enough to live in Woodford County Kentucky. I decided it would be rewarding to record the memories of some of our own small pleasures and treasures before they are forgotten. I also wanted to include just a few unique comments made by four small local children because of an innocence about them that brings joy to even the most dreary day. These stories are centered around the years between 1950 and 1999. My greatest hope is that they will stir up even more happy memories.

<em style=color: rgba(0 0 0 1)>-Jonelle Fisher

<em style=color: rgba(0 0 0 1)>Midway Kentucky

<em style=color: rgba(0 0 0 1)>
