مراكش - رحلة بعثة فرنسية إلى بلاط السلطان-Morocco

في القرن التاسع عشر، وبينما كانت معظم الدول العربيّة - كما نعرفها الآن - لا تزال تابعةً للحكم العثمانيّ، كان ثمّة دولةٌ ظلّتْ مستقلّةً منذ انشقاقها عن الدولة الأمويّة عام 788 ميلاديّ، مؤلَّفةٌ من ولاياتٍ شاسعةٍ يحكمها سلطانٌ، وتتّجه نحوَها عيون أوروبا وطموحاتُها: المغرب.في هذا الكتاب - الوثيقة، يصف الطبيبُ والمستشرقُ الفرنسيّ أدولفْ مارسيه الرحلةَ التي تسنّى له القيام بها عام 1882، عندما أتاح له السيد أورديغا - الذي عُيّنَ سفيرًا لفرنسا في مدينة طنجة - مرافقتَه ضمن البعثة الديبلوماسيّة لتقديم أوراق اعتماده لدى جلالته الشريفة؛ سلطان البلاد.بلغةِ المستشرق المَسحور، التي أجاد المترجم مصطفى الورياغلي نقلَ شحناتِها إلى العربيّة، وبعينَيْ الأجنبيِّ الفُضوليتَيْن، ومقاربة المستعمِر الفوقيّة أحيانًا، يسرد مارسيه تفاصيل الرحلة واصفًا المدنَ المغربيّة، وراصدًا التقاليد والديناميّات الاجتماعيّة والبروتوكولات السياسيّة بدقةٍ لمّاحةٍ فَطِنَة، لا تخلو من الأحكام، ولكنّها تُشكّلُ في جميع الأحوال مرجعًا من أهمّ المراجع للأكاديميّين ومُحبّي التاريخ، وعنصرَ جذبٍ كبيرًا ببساطتها وخفّتِها وسَلاسَتِها لهُواة أدب الرحلات من القُرّاء.In the nineteenth century when most of the Arab states- as we know today- were still under the Ottoman rule one country had remained independent after it defected from the Umayyad Caliphate in 788 AD.Ruled by a sultan and encompassing vast territories Morocco was a country that Europe had its eyes and ambitions on. In this travelogue French physician and orientalist Adolf Marsier recounts the journey he made in 1882 when Mr. Ordiga- the French ambassador- designate to Tangier- allowed him to join the diplomatic mission that presented his credentials to his royal majesty the Sultan. In the language of a mesmerized orientalist whose sparks translator- Mustapha Al-Wariaghli- skillfully translated to Arabic and with the curious eyes of a foreigner and sometimes the superior approach of a colonist Marsier relates the details of the journey describing the Moroccan cities capturing the traditions social dynamics and political protocols with intuitive and alert precision. Although being judgmental at times it is by all accounts one of the most important resources for academicians and those with passion for history and a major element of attraction for all readers who enjoy travel literature due its simplicity lightness and fluency.
