About The Book

The Bearded horse occupies a place of choice in the history culture and traditions of Algeria; it is the basis for the evolution of the main Maghrebian horse breeds. Twenty-one (26) measurements were taken on 58 pure and presumed (uncertain origins) barb horses all aged three years and more. From these six body indices were calculated and the live weight estimated. The cephalic profile was also taken. Statistical analyses were performed on these different measurements using R 2.15.2 and XLSTAT2016 software. The statistical tests used were of the descriptive and analytical type including the calculation of averages standard deviation principal component analysis (PCA) and ascending hierarchical classification (AHC). They are found that the Algerian Bearded horse is an eumetric horse mediolinear of body index of 0.955. (Square horse) whose average height is (152.5) cm and a chest circumference of (175.5) cm and a barrel circumference of posterior (19.8) cm and anterior (20.6) cm.
