<p class=ql-align-justify>For the past year Rebecca Winslow's life has been plagued by one disaster after another: the loss of her stillborn child the disappearance of her younger sister and the hopelessness of her toxic marriage to a narcissist who doesn't understand her grief. </p><p class=ql-align-justify>By chance Rebecca stumbles on a clue in the search for her sister which leads her to St. Croix. Despite her fears she boards a plane for the island. En route she meets a singer named Monique LaFleur a native of the island who quickly becomes her greatest champion and friend.</p><p class=ql-align-justify>Once on St. Croix she finds her sister lying in a coma under police surveillance because she is a suspect in the murder of a notorious sex trafficker. With Monique's help Rebecca advocates for her sister while unknowingly altering her own reality in the process. </p><p class=ql-align-justify>Rebecca brings her sister home with her hoping for both physical and emotional healing. What transpires is just the opposite. Spine-chilling discoveries occur which Rebecca must face in order to be released from her despair. </p>
