MOTIVATION IN SKATERS

The sport of roller speed skating as a physical discipline of competition has managed to be incorporated into the daily lives of hundreds of people around the world awakening and developing great motor skills but also cognitive skills as stated by Heinz (1999). For this reason this research determined the sports motivation of the skaters of the Meta team of the 2015 National Games of Colombia pre and post competition. Recognizing that it is extremely important to highlight the sport motivation for Colombian skaters being this a fundamental element and the base pillar of the coaching staff of the Colombian national team that has achieved more than 350 world titles in the last 20 years which today is recognized as the best skating team in the world.
