The role of tourism as a major tool for development judging from its immense revenue base is intriguingly challenging globally while recreation can be said to be the engine room for ensured continuous productivity for national development. Tourism and recreation are twins of immeasurable importance in our quest for sustain productive growth and development. According to World Tourism Organization (WTO) tourism industry is the world’s number one export earner ahead of automobile Petrolchemicals and food industries. The International Ecotourism Society (TIES) index indicates that Tourism is the largest business sector in the world economy employing about 200 million people. In 2004 the industry generated $5.49 trillion accounting for between 8% and 12% world employment. In sixty countries it is the number one export while in 80% of the countries tourism is among the five top export earners.
