The most influential modernist author of the 20th century is widely acknowledged to be Virginia Woolf. In 1998 The Modern Library ranked it No. 15 among the top 100 English-language novels of the 20th century. Additionally TIME magazine named it one of the top 100 English-language books published between 1923 and 2005.
