Multi-Agent Systems

A computer based system which consists of multiple intelligent agents interacting with each other is called a multi-agent system. It is very advanced when compared to an individual agent or monolithic system and can solve problems. The three fundamental characteristics of multi-agent systems are autonomy local views and decentralization. Multi-agent systems have applications in computer games films defense systems logistics transportation graphics GIS etc. The objective of this book is to give a general view of the different areas of multi-agent systems and their applications.
