Multi-Ethnic Poetry in English from North-East India

The poets of North-East India though belonging to diverse spaces cultures languages and religions share a common bond. It is a sensibility defined by a deep connection with the land; the overarching presence of Nature in their lives; the predominance of myths and tribal folklore; and the Search for an identity. All this informs their Poetry and gives it a unique Flavour. Mostly they hail from the multifarious ethnic groups. Obviously ethnicity is a major concern in their poetry. The present anthology “Multi-Ethnic Poetry in English from North-East India: A Critical Spectrum” Volume I is a sincere attempt to evaluate North-East Indian Poetry from the perspective of Multi-Ethnicity. I anticipate that the spectrum of the papers presented in the book will be sure to enhance the understanding appreciation and evaluation of North-East Indian Poetry in its totality coupled with its great variety of form content beauty and charm.
