Multiple sclerosis (MS) & Immune system reaction

Multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune disease characterized by chronic inflammation that affects the central nervous system. Unfortunately scientists have not yet been able to find out the cause of this disease and there is no definitive cure for this disease and pharmacological drugs might be associated with side effects. In all patients it is important to encourage patients to use a healthy lifestyle including proper diet regular exercise. The prevalence of MS in some parts of world has increased significantly over the past half century probably due to the effects of some environmental factors. Although the firest cause of MS is unknown most researchers argue that myelin damage in the disease is due to an inadequate immune response.
