By investigating the concepts and actions of music education in the São José Bands and Fanfares Project - SC I believe it has been possible to deepen the knowledge and understanding of some of these concepts and actions as well as to highlight some problems and possible ways to solve them. As one of the texts available on music education that deals with school bands this work contributes to the literature on music education and may encourage other studies to examine the processes of teaching and learning music in bands in different contexts.
