<p>The History of the Migration of Daugherty Allen and his<br />Ancestors and Descendants.<br />The Arthur was born on a Mountain top eight miles South of<br />Prairie Grove Washington County Arkansas and has researched<br />the Allen Family History for over fifty years.<br />John Allen and his son Samuel left Ireland about 1729 because<br />of poverty and hardship brought on by the potato famine and<br />settled in New Castle Delaware. Samuel's son Dougherty and<br />his family migrated from Delaware to Orange County North<br />Carolina Then on to Washington County Virginia about 1789.<br />From there Daughderty's descendants Scattered throughout the<br />United States.</p>
