I am neither a storyteller nor a professional writer. In this book I have attempted to narrate certain events from history and religion in the form of stories. The effort is to convey what can be achieved through education culture hard work and sacrifice. I believe my stories are raw and not well-crafted as I am not familiar with the art of storytelling. However I felt compelled to address the unfortunate lack of knowledge among the students who read in English-medium that do not know our culture and glorious history. In English-medium schools across India the stories and personalities being taught in English and moral education have no connection to Indian culture. Situations are distorted in English literature where Halloween is taught instead of Holi. Instead of explaining concepts like Karma Yoga scriptures like the Bible or foreign elements are imposed. The responsibility for this lies with authors not governments or policymakers. Those who write in English in India are mental slaves often distancing themselves from Indian philosophy and religion. Understanding Indian philosophy and religion usually involves distancing oneself from the English language. It's not that those who know English in India lack knowledge of their own culture or spirituality but most scholars are inclined to provide arguments in favour of religion while sitting in the lap of politics. No one cares whether the coming generations in the country have knowledge of religion or not and if not what the reason behind it is. In today's era authors who delve into religion have a responsibility to write literature that is steeped in patriotism and the essence of religion. Your English might not be excellent and storytelling in English might be a challenge but by presenting facts accurately you can become a carrier of intellectual awareness. I might not know English well either but I have made an attempt to start. In literary pursuits desire is crucial the rest is the work of Goddess Saraswati and society. I did not write to be included in the curriculum because my writing is not at that level but I made an attempt to inspire those who write poems in every street. Our ethical responsibility is to spread our religious values to others. Being an educator I observe a significant gap in the understanding of basic values ethics and social concepts among children. The focus seems to be solely on becoming successful and earning more money neglecting our rich cultural heritage. Many individuals sacrificed their lives and wealth to preserve the culture and freedom of our nation but the youth today seem oblivious to their contributions. Upon the advice of my elder brother Mr. Raghavendra who runs an English-medium school with an NGO I began writing supported by my parents. Witnessing the dissatisfaction of students with the curriculum I decided to write stories that would instill values of hard work and selflessness in them. My stories are primarily based on the principles of religion and karma inspiring children to work hard. I have made an effort to explain the concept of selfless action and also aimed to develop a sense of culture in children. The sequence of inspirational stories includes both significant historical figures and lesser-known revolutionaries. I have also tried to shed light on lesser-known heroes like Tilka Manjhi and Avadh Bihari. I come from a rural background and due to my education in Hindi-medium government schools may have made some mistakes in English. I request your forgiveness for any errors. I humbly request all of you to shower your love and blessings on my first book. I owe my gratitude to revered Gurudev Mr. D.K. Shukla a resident of Sitapur for making it possible for me to write in English. Without the support of my parents and elder brother this would not have been possible. I am thankful to Google for word choices and quantity. I attribute the completion of this book to the boundless grace of Lord Shri Krishna. With respect and greetings to all mentors and divine beings I seek the blessings of everyone.
