About The Book

Steve Danyluk was born in Germany at the end of WWII and spent the first five years of his life in a displaced persons camp. After his father died in one of the camps he his mother grandmother and siblings emigrated to the US via immigration processing in Bremerhaven. The next 15 years of his life were spent growing up in the Ukrainian section of the lower east side of Manhattan. His account of the improbable good fortune of assimilating into American culture is guaranteed to be an eye-opener for all Americans.
