On the way she notices a fly trapped inside the car. Curious and enchanted she names the fly <strong>Mindy </strong> and quickly considers it her friend.</p><p>Worried she remembers that her mother dislikes flies seeing them as dirty and dangerous. Sure enough the moment her mother spots Mindy on the windshield she tries to swat it. The fly narrowly escapes and a chase begins.</p><p></p><p>As her mother grows determined to get rid of the fly the girl hatches a plan to save her friend. She wants to ask her mother to open the window so Mindy can fly to safety-but fear holds her back. She knows exactly how her mother feels about flies.</p><p></p><p>Gathering courage and with a little encouragement from her mother she finally speaks up. She explains that Mindy is her friend and gently asks her mother to let the fly go. Despite her dislike for flies the mother agrees.</p><p></p><p>In that moment the girl learns a powerful lesson: speaking up can save what matters even when it's difficult. She realises that if she had stayed silent Mindy would have been lost-and so would a friendship. From then on she promises herself to always find her voice.</p>
