Despite his French name and citizenship Pierre Ley was born in Lugano and raised in Italy's Northern Lakes region. A former food critic and member of the Italian Academy of Cookery in Milan his lifelong passion for food and for the history and evolution of culinary culture around the world led him in the early 2000s to host The Italian Break a web series dedicated to classic Italian dishes.
