My Life in Psychiatry

<p><span style=color: rgba(15 17 17 1); background-color: rgba(255 255 255 1)>My name is Lucy Walshe I live in Dublin Ireland I spent 30 years working in the largest psychiatric hospital in Dublin .I am married with four adult children and seven grandchildren. I met my husband in the hospital when I started work there at 18 years of age we are together 50 years and he too was a psychiatric nurse. Retired now for a few years I wrote this book to enlighten people about mental illness treatments used and improvements for patients and staff today. The experience I gained there was unimaginable as people were admitted for all sorts of reasons as well as those who were actually mentally ill reasons such as unmarried mothers postpartum depression epilepsy motor neuron disease brain damage as well as depression schizophrenia dementia and many more. I spent my life there and gained many lasting friendships with colleagues through good times and bad we were like a family in a big campus. </span></p>
