At the age of eight in 1959 I was playing football with the neighborhood kids at Tuley Park in Chicago Illinois at 90th Street and South Park Way...At that age I had no idea-or even a dream-that I would work on the sidelines of a Chicago Bears professional football game at historic Soldier Field in Chicago for the National Football League (NFL). --Jerome WatkinsI was inspired to write this book after having the opportunity to work with the Chicago Bears football officiating chain crew in the National Football League.This book shares my brief journey from playing football with my friends at Tuley Park in Chicago Illinois to the sidelines of a Chicago Bears football game at historic Soldier Field. This book also shares the relationship with my father Daniel Watkins and my sons VaShon and Torres because when I am around each of them life is the best.
