For me and I suspect for all that survived that day and night of fire fighting bayonet charging bomb dropping then trying to get back to our wounded none was as haunting as it is today - the long night of occasional interruptions of screams and then shots. We knew our men left behind in the heat of battle were being executed by the Viet Cong."</p>
