Howishia McFadden had to survive in life while she was hiding her internal struggles behind a facade of normalcy. She had gone through a divorce and her children had been sexually abused which led to feelings of guilt helplessness and the need to forgive. However she had a profound spiritual awakening that revealed new truths to her. In a poignant act of healing and release Howishia and her children buried their pain symbolically in the ocean using little wooden caskets. This act marked a turning point for them helping them to let go of their trauma and embrace a future of resilience and advocacy. Howishia believes that it is important for us to understand that living a better life only comes through every trial which makes us stronger.
