About The Book

In this cosmogonic myth the hero Mikombo is a self-created divine warrior. Having taken flesh in the womb of his mother Kalewo without sexual intercourse he was born with a small magical spear and shield to face the adversities of the world. He thus defeats the ogre and the jealous chiefs. Greimas' actantial model shows that in this myth life is the main object of the quest for which the subject and his helpers confront the opponents. Mikombo is at once the initiator the subject and the recipient. Divine who returns to the divine through his Promethean mission he foreshadowed Imhotep by teaching men the arts crafts and virtues. The spaces in this myth are hierarchical interactive material and immaterial normal and paranormal real and unreal and Mikombo is a medium between the two. Despite its subjectivity this myth stimulates reasoning and objective reflection leading us to philosophy to the very science of myths to mythologists and establishing beliefs. It comes to the rescue of reason which has been brought to a standstill by its own limitations. The proverbs analyzed are identity-based. They reveal the science and philosophy of this people.
