He agrees to their offer to teach him and studies with them for twenty years.</p><p></p><p>Each will bring something unique to his education. His <em>kuleana</em> (responsibility) will be the interpretation of this precious knowledge. Each kahuna lives with great respect for the laws of nature in their unique way. What we might consider magical and mystical are everyday occurrences for them. Maka'ala will see and experience things that will shape the rest of his life and solidify his destiny.</p><p></p><p>Drawing on ancient wisdom Maka'ala shares insights and a different perception of who Hawaiians are culturally.
