Her father Pandit Dr. Balwant Puranik a renowned vocalist provided her with a disciplined musical upbringing. From an early age she received rigorous training under his guidance and later under the mentorship of Pandit Sajjan Lal Bhatt a celebrated Gwalior gharana maestro and Shikhar Samman awardee. She was also privileged to learn tappa gayaki from Pandit Balasaheb Puchhwale. Dr. Joshi is admired for her melodious voice precision in swar-vidya purity of raga exposition and the depth of expression in bhav-sangeet. Her performances maintain the traditional essence of the gharana while reflecting her own creative individuality. She completed her M.A. in Music with merit from Barkatullah University and successfully cleared the NET examination in her first attempt. She also appeared for the UPSC interview an experience that enriched her academic and personal journey. She has been associated with academia as a Lecturer in Music at Women’s College Amravati and as a distinguished student of Sadhana Music College Bhopal. A recognized All India Radio artist since the age of fifteen Dr. Joshi has performed extensively across India and abroad. Her notable performances include Doordarshan Bhopal cultural programs under the South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC) and prestigious events in Kolkata Hoshangabad Bhopal Shimla and Bangkok (Thailand) where she represented India at the Arya Samaj International Program (2016). Her contributions to research and scholarship include the acclaimed book “Naad Ved” along with several papers and lectures at national and international seminars. She was awarded the Ph.D. in Music and honored with the “Gaganbharari Samarth Award” by Samarth Foundation and Vallari Publications Pune. Balancing her roles as a mother teacher researcher and performer Dr. Joshi exemplifies the synthesis of dedication resilience and artistry. She continues to work towards the propagation of Indian classical music through performances academic contributions and mentoring of the younger generation.
