NAD+ analogues as chemical probes

NAD+ consuming enzymes play an important role in fundamental cellular processes and have been shown to be involved in various diseases and the extension of lifespan. To understand underlying mechanisms and to find potential enzyme activators or inhibitors the approach of chemical probes has proven to be successful on some enzymes but broadening the applicability and discovering new probes is still an important goal.
