<p>About the Author</p><p>Ye Zhaoyan is one of China's most acclaimed authors. A writer ofboth fiction and nonfiction he is best known internationally for thenovel Nanjing 1937: A Love Story. He studied Chinese Language andLiterature at Nanjing University later working as a college teacher anda literary editor before becoming a full-time writer. Ye came to literaryprominence in the early 1980s and has won many awards includingChina's Best Novella Award in 1988 and the Writer of Excellence Awardin 2018. His full-length novels include Nanjing 1937: A Love StoryFlowers Shadow Otber Peoples Love and How Stubborn Our HeartsAre. His prose collections include Wandering in the Night Old Nanjing:Refections on the Qinbuai River and Miscellaneous Peanut Tree. Many ofhis books have been translated into English Italian Korean and otherlanguages.</p><p>Ye lives in Nanjing and many of his works are inspired by and set in the city.</p>
