Narratives of the Voyages of Pedro Sarmiento de Gamboa to the Straits of Magellan

The publications of the Hakluyt Society (founded in 1846) made available edited (and sometimes translated) early accounts of exploration. This 1895 volume contains Pedro Sarmiento de Gamboa''s account of his voyages down the Pacific coast of South America and through the Straits of Magellan in the sixteenth-century.
