National Factors and Employment Relations in Japan

In the last three decades changes have also occurredin the employment relations practices. ThoughJapanese employment relations system was regarded asthe most vital element for the success of Japaneseeconomy especially during 1970s many academiciansand practitioners raised question marks. In fact thechanges in national factors —national institutionslabour market national culture and business andeconomy— had jolted the prevailing employmentrelations practices too. The impact of developmentsin national factors seemed to be different in thesize number of employees and sectors of individualcompany. However in general all the above fournational factors are influencing the employmentrelations factors.
