National Interest and Energy Integration in South America

About The Book

This paper analyses Brazilian energy integration initiatives with Venezuela Bolivia Argentina and Paraguay. The hypothesis that guided the research derives from the Realist Theory of International Political Economy according to Robert Giplin (2001). The historical recovery of the underlying logic of each integration process allowed us to verify the extent to which the political objectives of consolidating Brazilian leadership were favoured.
